Thanks to a Thrivent Grant OSLC Youth Group was able to purchase five $50 food/necessity boxes for local families in need through the Flandreau Wholeness Center. Thanks to everyone for your support!

An OSLC member named "An Older Child of God" left several copies of the card to the left in our Treasure Box for the Youth Group kids. One for each the kids and one to share with a friend or person in need of encouragement. They asked that we keep the card somewhere that we can see it everyday. Maybe on the bathroom mirror, the dash of our car or our locker at school. What a great idea! Always Remember..... we are Children of God!

SUNDAY SCHOOL COMMUNITY PROJECT: A few weeks ago Randy Tollefson and Bridget Flannery shared with the Sunday School some of their experiences as National Guard members. During the presentation, we learned that some items are difficult to get over seas. So as their final Service Learning Project, we are gathering items for care packages that will be sent over to our military. Here are a few items that were mentioned: Snack foods: crackers, granola bars, beef jerky, pop tarts, fruit snacks, sunflower seeds, 5 hour energy drinks, m &m’s, tootsie rolls. Homemade snacks: fudge, cookies, & chex mix. Other items: fleece blankets, baby wipes, air freshener, & decks of cards. Messages from home: pictures, drawings & letters. Please help us by donating an item or two. We will be collecting these items until April 27th. Thank-you for your support.

THIRD GRADERS RECEIVE BIBLES: The following OSLC 3rd graders were presented copies of the Spark New Revised Standard Bible (hard copies) on behalf of the congregation on Sunday, October 19th, 2014: Carson Headrick, Chloe Peters, Brendan Peterson and Lily Williams, not pictured is Kameryn Grengs. Keep these children in your prayers as they begin their life long adventure studying God’s Word. Recognition and presentation was be done by Pastor Mike, Lori Williams & Laura Peters, Co-superintendents of Education.
